ScienceDaily (July 25, 2011) — Less friction, less power, less fuel -- plowshares coated with diamond-like carbon (DLC) slide through the soil like a hot knife through butter. As a result, the tractors pulling them need less power and fuel. In some tests the power required has been reduced by more than 30 percent. .....

To mark the end of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program, Nature Video has released an 8-minute video tribute including all 135 missions.
With the touchdown of Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center last week, NASA’s 30-year program came to an end. The shuttle fleet delivered the Hubble Space Telescope, the International Space Station, and dozens of satellites, space probes, crew and supplies. We trawled through hours of archive footage from NASA, and digitised dozens of VHS tapes, in order to show every single mission in chronological order.
